VeriComply was born out of the pain and frustrations that Roger Cohen, our founder, encountered while managing complex transactions as a corporate attorney. During a 20-year period, Roger managed over $10 billion in deals ranging from initial public offerings of finance and real estate companies to M & A, asset securitizations and loan workouts. In one instance, that spanned four years, Roger managed 5,000 loan documents to restructure what became Starwood Hotels.
In each of these deals there was a recurring problem; lack of standard processes and organized information. As a result, business executives, lawyers, and other professionals spent too little time performing high value services and too much time chasing down information and moving it from one document to another.
From this experience, Roger developed the unique skill of an "information engineer". When he practiced law, colleagues joked that Roger would only do a deal if he needed a flow chart to figure it out. That skill has been instrumental in launching VeriComply , which simplifies and automates document-intensive business processes.
